For: Students in Kindergarten to 6th Grade

Time: 10:30am -11:15am

Class Fee: $25*

Class Description:  Earth. Terra. Dirt. Soil. Why have so many names to describe the same things? It’s because they’re actually very different! Depending on where they take their stop in the cycle, scientists give rocks and minerals different names. Students will sort/classify rocks using descriptive words, then we will sort rocks by type. Using their observations students will then use playdough to model the rock cycle.

*The class fee of $25 does not include admission to Liberty Science Center or parking. 

Members of Learning With Amigos are entitled to a discounted admission rate when admission is purchased in advance through our website. The reduced admission pricing is $17 per child and $11 per adult. Register for admission on the Liberty Science Center Field Trip for this date.

The parking lot is owned by the state of New Jersey and operated by a private company. LSC does not receive parking revenue. The fee for cars and vans during the day is $7.00. The parking fee can be paid at the kiosk in the lobby or at the ticket booths before exiting the lot.
